If you are placed on the BB position or the next after BB, you have to remember that the players sitting behind you will make their decision after you make yours.

At that moment you do not have the vaguest idea what cards they may have and what are they planning to do with them. In this case, you have to use your intuition. If you do not have sufficiently strong cards I would not recommend to take a risk.
