Freeroll is a tournament,
which is characterised by the huge number of tables, by which the game
takes place. Another very important element of a Freeroll is that you
do not have to pay any register fee to enter the game. For this reason
comes the name of this game- Freeroll. However, the money you will get
in case of your victory is authentic!
Unfortunately, most of the
Freeroll games are played in Texas Holdem Type of poker. However, more
and more free tournaments are played in the 5cd version.
The simplest strategy by Freeroll tournaments.
Freerolls
are very specific type of tournaments. The rules in this type of poker
are a bit different from those in other types of poker. Very often not
your poker skills and experience but rather luck determines your
victory. Because the Freerolls are free for everybody, many new players
are entering the game, and with a bit of luck they are trying to match
their cards to get some valuable combination. Unfortunately, it happens
quite often that although you have good poker skills you will loose,
because some new players are luckier than you are. At this point, I
would like to encourage you to enter the game and assure you, that by
applying a special strategy you will not be eliminated even by lack of
luck. If you follow, the strategy described below you will achieve at
least paid position in the game.
The strategy in the Freeroll is
based on the strategy used in every poker game. However, there are some
important differences, which are of great importance for your result.
We will start with dividing Freeroll game in three main stages, each a
bit different from the other one. W tej taktyce będziemy opierać się w

First stage
From the first stage,
we expect that all „accidental” players will be eliminated from the
game. You should play very carefully and you should not gamble, if you
want to play in the second stage. The basic philosophy of this stage is
to “keep save your money and chips”. You should play only then, when
you can be sure that you will win. Of course, it takes plenty of time
to win what you want to and at the same to eliminate weaker players. At
the beginning of the stage many new players are eliminated, however, by
the end less and less players leave the game. It is a sign that the
second stage is near.
There is another strategy suggested for
beginning of the Freeroll. However, this strategy completely departs
from the strategy described above. In this strategy, a player is
advised to gamble a lot, and take the risk to double his stack. In that
way, you will dominate your partners, who become afraid, of attacking
you in the game. This strategy bases on the assumption that Freeroll is
a free tournament, so even if you drop out, you can enter another one.
Second stage
On
this stage, you want to collect possibly the highest amount of your
chips. You do not have to play so rigorously like at the beginning. You
can even try to bluff time to time, because there is practically no
risk you will drop out. When you enter the game, you should play
aggressively. You should not be afraid of taking responsibility and
risk your money. Couple of winnings at the beginning of the second
stage may place you on the safe position in the end of the stage.
Moreover, if you will loose too much, then it is better to change the
tournament immediately than drop out after three hours of playing. If
you have many chips, you can try your hand at stealing blinds. By the
end of the second stage players play very carefully and the blinds are
quite high, so it is a real change to get some of them. Moreover, if
you have only few chips and you are not sure, if you will play until
the end, you should risk with stealing blinds anyway.
Third stage
In
a normal tournament, the third stage is the final one, where a person
wins and the rest of players do not. However, in the Freeroll this
stage takes longer than usually. In this stage, all the players have
some knowledge of and skills in poker games. For this reason, it is
better to start playing carefully, without gambling too much. If you
stay in game, it means that you have an image telling everybody else
about a high quality of your playing. However, you have to follow a
single simple rule: adjust your strategy to these of your opponents.
Therefore, if they play very carefully, you should use your chance and
try to steal blinds. On the contrary, if they play aggressive you
should not take a risk. If you take my advice, you will for sure earn
some additional money.
